Meditation on gratitude

Especially if you allow yourself to be grateful for all the challenges and accept the limitations of your life experience, you can transcend them and you open the door to magic…

Find a comfortable seat, close your eyes, and silently repeat, “I am grateful for…” and then watch a few breaths to pass by and then find the next thing or person or situation you are grateful for, “I am grateful for…”. Just a few examples, make them your own, anything you are grateful for is welcome, big or small.

I am grateful for my life.

I am grateful for my friends.

I am grateful that all my friends and family are well at the moment.

I am grateful for the challenges that remind me that I am worthy and that it is ok to be fair to myself as well.

You begin with things that are easy to be grateful for and then you can deepen the practice and be grateful for anything challenging in your life.

I am grateful for being stuck at home.

I am grateful for my loneliness.

I am grateful for my fear of not having enough.

I am grateful that we are in the middle of a deep world-wide transformation and no one knows what life is going to be like when we have gone through this transformation.

This is when the practice really becomes magical. By being grateful for what is, you can find acceptance, you can begin to acknowledge all the gifts you are given in any moment, no matter if your mind thinks about it.

Life is a precious gift with all its experiences, ups and downs, and all too often we tend to forget all about it.

You can even write down what you are thankful for, simply begin each sentence with “I am grateful for…” and then add whatever comes to mind or is on your mind.

I hope you are enjoying all these meditation practice, up next we will be practicing to sit still and use whatever meditation practice has suited us best for longer and longer periods of time. If you are interested in deepening your practice in that way, please check in tomorrow…
